The city of Long Beach is giving us a booth at the Amgen Tour of California Bike and Family Festival February 24, 2007. We have arranged a pro flatland Jam featuring Chad Jonston, Pete Brandt and Day Smith. We also got the city to throw a skid competition and a track stand competition on the same day. The city of Long Beach and Park Tools is looking for participants in the "Fastest Wrench" competition. I have sign up sheets at the shop, or I can fax you one. There was supposed to be an alley cat race in the works, but the city didn't get behind that. Right now I am trying to get them to throw a gold sprint competition.

News: 11-25-06 Jim C got hit by a car Friday 11-10-06. He cracked a few ribs, cut his liver and collapsed a lung. Then he had to spend a week in County USC, which was an ordeal in itself. It was pretty bad but Jim was cracking jokes the whole time and he is already back visiting the shop from time to time.

Later that night at the shop people were stoping by every five miniutes preparing for Midnight Ridazz. It became obvious that Jim and I were going to be at the shop all night and not riding. At 9:30 about 500 or so people were gathering at the LACC parking lot for the journey to Santa Monica. The crew looked different than the usual Ridazz. Everyone there was prepared for a long haul. There were more road worthy looking bikes and more riders were prepared. At the same time another crew was assembling across town at the Culver City Trader Joe's near the half way point to the west side. The two groups met up along the way and stormed the Santa Monica Pier together at Midnight.
Meanwhile Downtown the Global Gutz international Alley Cat Race competition was starting up with 25 racers. Orlando Goodoy and Iron Megan came in 1st place. Jack organized the race, we threw an after party at our shop and mass quantities of beer were consumed. We gave Orlando a very nice Bailey Works bag and Megan won a set of rims. Later that night the entire city from one end to another was busy with bike traffic returning from the pier.
P.S. Jim C rode 117 miles to Santa Barbara late that night. Then he missed work the next day!
