This year's program definitely features the riding in Los Angeles with some films highlighting LA's cycling culture and riders, i.e.: Lucas Brunelle's Worldwide Adventures (w/ footage from last year's events), The Bike Lane, LA Bike Scene, Taco Tuesday, and Wolfpack Hustle: a Midnight Dragrace. I'm told it was the largest spectator turnout so far this year, and the racing didn't disappoint. The Madison is always spectacular, and our own Jack Lindquist managed to catapult his partner, Todd Mohney, right into the infield! It was such a fun event, and there were more discs than at a frisbee golf tournament!!! Best bring your racing duds. Also this weekend, you may want to check out Quake City Rumble 5 if you find yourself in San Francisco. I raced one of these a few years ago, and it was a blast! Jim is leaving town for the CMWC in Toronto and will be gone for a whole week. Jack has to go out of town Thursday and Friday. And Kyle told me that he will not know until 1:00PM everyday for a week rather or not he will have to leave work because of jury duty. In the mean time I need to work on this web site, do a physical inventory, pay our taxes, settle some debts and test the new web store. So instead of doing a terrible job of running the store single-handed we will have to open late (5:30-10:00) Thursday and Friday with a mostly temp staff. We will be closing early Sat and Sunday (from 2:00-6:00). Stay tuned for updates concerning next Monday and Tuesday. I am sorry for this closure but please direct all complaints about the sporadic hours to the members of the staff that take vacations not me. We've got Jimmy Lizama, from LA, organizing the BLADE RUNNER Alleycat, and Squid, from NYC, is bringing the VeloCity Race here to the Encino Velodrome with the help of the SWARM! crew and some very dedicated individuals! (Messengers competing in the VeloCity velodrome races will be eligible to win tickets to the Cycle Messenger World Championships in Toronto this year!)
