About Orange 20 Bikes:

Orange 20 Bikes is an independent full service bicycle shop started by two members of the Bicycle Kitchen. The focus of our shop is specifically related to the needs of urban bicycle commuters, messengers and first time cyclist. Everyone that works at Orange 20 rides religiously and we volunteer our time, services and spare parts to the Bicycle Kitchen. We are not in business with or competition with their organization but we do share the kitchen's mission of getting more Angelinos out of cars and onto bikes.

We carry complete bikes, bicycle parts, track racing gear, street and flatland BMX products, messenger bags, urban bicycle apparel, consignment items, books, videos and more. We support rider owned and operated companies that tend to make higher quality more sustainable products for real world bicycle use. The bottom line is that we only carry products and soft goods that we would trust riding ourselves.

In addition we also sponsor bicycle related events and races all over Los Angeles.

We decided to name the shop Orange 20 Bikes because the address is 713 N. Heliotrope. 7+13=20 plus the building is bright orange, your 20 is C.B. vernacular for location and a 20" is also a slang word for BMX. There are a few other numerological and coincidental factors that went into the name but most of all it's based on doing whatever the hell we want.

We are located on the edge of Silverlake in-between Hollywood and Downtown in Los Angeles.
Our address is 713 North Heliotrope, literally just across the street from the Bicycle Kitchen. One block west of Melrose and Vermont turn right onto Heliotrope. Try This Map. We are also very close to the Red Line Metro station at Santa Monica and Vermont.

Orange 20 Bikes is dedicated specifically to the progression of Urban Egalitarian Cycling in Los Angeles. The only dependable and enviormentally friendly transportation option that you have in this city is your bike. We customize in Track and Fixed-gear Messenger bikes but we are not limited to that. In fact we love Urban / Touring / Road / and Mountain bikes as well. BMX rules and we support rider owned companies. Most of all everyone needs confidence and inspiration between thier legs.
